In the heart of Kenya, a development and innovation hub called LELAPA is emerging, which aims to be a catalyst for change. With an inclusive and participatory approach, LELAPA aims to build an eco-sustainable economic future, enhancing local resources and promoting initiatives that respond to the aspirations of Kenyan communities.

LELAPA will work closely with local institutions, businesses, third sector entities and citizens themselves to identify the needs and priorities of Kenya. Its action is based on an inclusive and participatory governance that involves all stakeholders in the decision-making process. This approach ensures that the initiatives introduced are effectively based on the real needs of the community and reflect their aspirations.   

LELAPA plays a leading role in the planning and implementation of new integrated projects that arise as a declination of long-term development programs capable of inverting the macroeconomic paradigm. This approach aims to involve the local community in the creation of economic opportunities, promoting sustainable innovation and a collaborative vision for the future, enhancing the natural resources and potential of the Kenyan territory.

Through a new organizational and management model, we are able to start new business activities, ensuring the economic and financial sustainability of the new initiatives. In addition, LELAPA is also dedicated to raising funds to finance these initiatives. This can be done through donations from companies or individuals, public investment funds or international organizations, or through the development of public-private partnerships. LELAPA is committed to ensuring that these funds are used in the most effective and efficient way to achieve the objectives set.

As a virtual production incubator, LELAPA supports all economic operators in its territory in managing this great process of digital transformation, through the structured and planned application of product and process innovations. Artificial Intelligence, blockchain and IoT will no longer be technologies available to a few, but through mentorship programs, training workshops and an innovation network involving universities and local investors, all economic operators in our territory will be able to return to being competitive.

LELAPA is committed to promoting the local and direct economy through innovative forms of cooperation, capable of creating new completely decentralized production and distribution chains that self-determine from the bottom to promote environmental sustainability and social well-being. We call them the cooperatives of the future, self-regulated chains through specifications that reward the final consumer with environmental and social credits.

Another key aspect of LELAPA’s work is the active involvement of citizens in the decision-making process. LELAPA organizes public meetings, focus groups, consultations and other initiatives that allow citizens to express their opinions and contribute to the definition of priorities. This participatory approach ensures that development projects truly respond to the needs and aspirations of the community and fosters a sense of belonging and shared responsibility towards the territory.

LELAPA intends to play a key role in promoting the well-being of local communities and fostering sustainable growth. Through our participatory governance, training and design to create new entrepreneurial activities, fundraising to finance these initiatives, the creation of new supply chains that foster the local and direct economy, and the active involvement of citizens, LELAPA will strive to create an environment conducive to economic growth, social well-being and environmental protection.
